Effectiveness (dispersion) of a stack is determined by the height, effectiveness of a flares is determined by the combination of height and optimized burning process of the gases. There is one other type of emission control equipment which is related to the above mentioned, the vent stack. A vent stack is utilized with certain gases (often CH4). The special design of a vent stack results in very high exhaust gas speeds (up to sonic) which make the gas composition decompose to innocuous gas. (in combination with the height of the vent stack and the dispersion). These special stacks are also designed and manufactured by Array Industries. Your emissions in control!
